Kelci Crawford is a comic artist, illustrator, and concept artist based in Toledo, Ohio. They have been making comics since 2013, and running Fantasyville Productions, LLC since 2018. They have drawn a lot of webcomics over the years, including the LGBTQ+ fantasy adventure The Legend of Jamie Roberts. When not making comics, they play tabletop roleplaying games with friends and care for three goblins disguised as cats.
Kelci believes that it’s time to explore fantasy beyond the Eurocentric view. African and Native American aesthetics and views in particular are underrepresented in fantasy art and stories. They acknowledge their lineage as an American of Scottish, Irish, and English descent, and recognize that history has not been kind to Indigenous people. They hope that there can be a gathering of nations and respect for sources and ideas, in a way that lifts up new stories instead of retelling colonialist narratives. Kelci’s zines, minicomics, comics, and art revolve around this ethos.
